STAY WITHIN EVERY LIMIT, ON EVERY ROUTE

Size Up

Size Up plans routes based on the actual capacity of vehicles, including weight, volume, and units, ensuring balance across your entire fleet. This helps identify overloaded vehicles, wasted space, and compliance issues before dispatch, rather than after.

Includes

Up to 3 capacity dimensions

Luminar Core plans around one capacity limit. Size Up adds two more, so up to three of your operation's constraints are held in the same plan — whatever capacity means for the work you do.

Conflicts caught during planning

If a route would push past any of its limits, that shows while you're still planning — so it's resolved at the desk, not discovered once the day is underway.

Tighter use of each resource

Modelling your limits more accurately means each resource is loaded closer to what it can genuinely take on — less capacity left unused, without overcommitting anyone.

What changes when you stop planning by hand.

The manual checks, handled

Stop tallying every route against every limit by hand. Size Up holds your constraints as it plans, so there's no second and third pass to make sure nothing's been pushed too far — the check is built in.

More from each resource, safely

Planning to real limits means each resource is loaded close to what it can take — without going over. You get good use out of what you run while staying the right side of the limits that carry real cost, whether that's fines, added wear, or downtime.

Plans built on real constraints

One limit rarely describes a real operation. Holding several at once means the plan reflects the constraints you actually work under — not a simplified version that looks fine on screen and falls short on the ground.

Questions worth asking before you start.

Do I need Smart Planning to use Size Up?

No — the Size Up module can be used directly with Luminar Core. Smart Planning isn’t required, but it can make planning significantly faster as your operation becomes more complex.

Can different vehicles have different capacity limits?

Yes. Limits are set per resource, because no two are the same. If you're a courier juggling weight, pallet spots and volumetric loading, for instance, Size Up has you covered — and the same applies to whatever capacities shape your work.

Can a route ever exceed its capacity limits?

When the Smart Planning optimizer is run with Size Up, capacities are treated as a hard limit — it won't build a route that goes over, full stop. An over-capacity route only happens one of two ways: you've planned or adjusted it by dragging and dropping on the Gantt, or something changed after planning — a resource's capacity was edited, say — so a route that fit before no longer does. Either way, Luminar Works shows it clearly, so it's caught while the trip is still planned, not after it's published.

What can I do about an over-capacity route?

Two paths. Adjust it — move or reassign tasks on the Gantt, or re-optimize with Smart Planning to rebuild within the limits — until the route fits. Or, if the overflow is deliberate and you're willing to run it, accept it and let the trip go ahead over capacity.

Is Size-Up included when I sign up?

When you sign up with up to 5 resources, you get every module — Size Up included — free for your 30-day trial, even on a free Luminar Core account. Nothing's locked behind a paywall while you explore. Start with more than 5 resources and you're straight onto a paid plan, so the trial doesn't apply. When the trial ends, keep the modules you want by subscribing, or do nothing and settle into Luminar Core — free, forever, for up to 5 resources.

Can I downgrade Size Up later?

Yes — downgrade anytime. Your Luminar Core base and any other active modules keep working. If you upgrade to Size Up again later, your saved constraints and settings are still there.

Ready to catch overloads before dispatch?
