Refund Policy
Effective date: 9 June 2026 — Applies to luminarworks.com and the Luminar Works platform
This Refund Policy explains how refunds and subscription cancellations work for services provided by Luminar Works (Pty) Ltd (“Luminar Works”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory or non-waivable consumer rights that apply to you under applicable law.
Contents
1. Paddle as merchant of record
Paddle acts as the authorised merchant of record and reseller for transactions for Luminar Works subscriptions. Paddle handles payment processing, subscription billing, and first-tier transaction support, including refund requests. Luminar Works remains responsible for providing the platform and technical support.
This policy should be read with Paddle's Refund Policy.
2. Refund eligibility
Paddle's general policy is that transactions are non-refundable unless a refund is required by law or otherwise permitted under its policy. Refunds may be available where you have an applicable statutory withdrawal right or where a material technical or product defect prevents you from accessing the features or benefits described.
Refund eligibility is determined in accordance with applicable law, the transaction details, and Paddle's policies. A request is not guaranteed to qualify solely because a subscription has been cancelled.
3. How to request a refund
To request a refund or cancel a subscription, use one of the following routes:
- The "View receipt" or "Manage subscription" link in your transaction confirmation email.
- The billing or support link in your account, where available.
- Paddle's buyer support portal at paddle.net.
For product or technical issues, contact Luminar Works first so we can investigate and try to resolve the issue. Include the email address used for the purchase and your transaction details where possible.
4. Refund processing
Paddle processes approved refunds. Where possible, a refund is sent to the original payment method and is generally processed within 14 days after approval. Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may take additional time to show the funds.
5. Subscription cancellations
You may cancel a subscription through the subscription-management link in your Paddle transaction email or through your account, where available. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and prevents future renewals.
Cancelling a subscription does not automatically refund unused time in the current billing period. You may still request a refund if you believe you have a legal or policy-based entitlement to one.
6. Technical issues and defects
If a persistent technical issue or material defect prevents you from accessing the platform or a described benefit, contact Luminar Works at legal@luminarworks.com. We will work with you to investigate and resolve the issue. If it cannot be resolved, you may contact Paddle through paddle.net regarding the transaction and any refund request.
7. Chargebacks and disputes
If you do not recognise a charge or have a payment or service problem, please contact Paddle or Luminar Works before initiating a chargeback where possible. This gives us an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue, and does not limit any rights or remedies available to you under applicable law.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, Paddle's policies, or applicable law. We will update the effective date when material changes are made.
